Levira carries out wireless broadband network services, based on WiMAX technology.
"Broadband connection is considered to be more or less a human right in Estonia, where Internet penetration is one of the highest worldwide. We are using WiMAX to make affordable broadband connection available to the widest range of subscribers also in rural areas,” said Mart Einpalu, CEO of Levira.
In 2005 Levira was granted a licence in 3,5 GHz band and after successful first round deployment in summer 2006, Levira has extended its BreezeMAX Network throughout most of the country (80%) and will continue expansion of the network up to the full coverage.
BreezeMAX is Alvarion’s award-winning WiMAX Certified™ platform designed from the ground up according to the IEEE 802.16 standards and uses OFDM technology for advanced non-line-of-sight (NLOS) functionality.
BreezeMAX has a carrier-class design and supports broadband speeds and quality of service (QoS) to enable carriers to offer broadband services to hundreds of subscribers in a single base station. Since its launch in mid-2004, BreezeMAX has been successfully deployed in over 180 installations in more than 80 countries around the world.
Service reaches the client through the partners-resellers. To take advantage of services client needs CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) and direct visibility with Levira WiMAX Base Station.
